Istanbul Sile and Agva tour full day
This tour includes Sile and Agva, small villages located on Black Sea shore of Istanbul.
Sile is located at around 70 km from Istanbul. A place of old civilizations although the early Greek settlements go back to 700 BC and this village has naturally seen the usual suspects, more than once indeed : Hittites, Greeks, Romans, Byzantians, Seljuks and Ottomans. It is famous for its 150 years old lighthouse which is the second biggest one in the world.
Sile has a sandy beach that is sometimes beaten by big, strong, almost ocean standard waves. Although connected to Mediterranean sea by Dardanelles, Marmara and Bosphorus, Black sea is known to have merciless, rude, stubborn yet rich waters concerning fishery. It reflects a different character of its own which is deeply respected by Turks. It is a well known summer resort of Istanbul and is the home town of Sile Bezi (Sile fabric), an transparent, loose summer type cloth made of cotton.
Located at around 30 km from Sile, Agva stands between Goksu and Yesilcay rivers and features a long beach. The name of this fishery village resembles "Aqua" in Latin. This is why the name Agva is thought to address these two beautiful rivers. In fact, you will have a boat ride on Goksu river and enjoy the scenery and chill out in a natural atmosphere offering you all shades of blue and green.
