How to Get to Istanbul and Marmara RegionTO IstanbulThe biggest and most important airport in Turkey, is Ataturk International Airport, Istanbul. There are scheduled flights from all over the world. The best and biggest airline in Turkey is Turkish Airlines (THY).See Flights to/from Istanbul You may come to Istanbul by bus or train from Europe or neighbooring countries. However, flights are suggested since trains are slow and buses can be tiring. You can also arrive to Istanbul by ferry from Greece and Italy, though there are not frequent services.
From Istanbul TO Cities in the Marmara RegionBursa:3-4 hours by bus. There is a bus every half an hour. About USD 10By seabus to Yalova (1 hour) and taking the bus from Yalova to Bursa (1 hour). Total about USD 10. There are a few seabus services every day. Air: You can fly to Bursa in about 30 minutes. But it will take you more time to get to the airport in Istanbul and out of Bursa airport to city center. Canakkale (Gelibolu & Troy)About 5 hours by bus, USD 10 per person.Air: You can fly to Canakkale in less than an hour. Dardanel Airlines has daily services. Edirne:By bus 3 hours. About USD 5 per person.By train 5 hours. About USD 5 per person. From Istanbul TO All Cities in TurkeyFrom Istanbul there is a bus service to anywhere in Turkey. There are flights to Adana, Ankara Bodrum, Bursa, Canakkale, Dalaman, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Kayseri, Samsun, Trabzon, Van. There is a train service to many cities in Turkey, but the only feasible line is the Istanbul-Ankara line, especially the sleeping wagon.
From Istanbul TO AnkaraAnkara airport is reachable with frequent daily flights from Istanbul, .USD 70 per person one way on Turkish Airlines. You can take overnight sleeping wagon train to Ankara from Istanbul. USD 30 per person one way based on on double occupancy. Bus services runs every half an hour , USD 25 per person. Ulusoy and Varan bus companies are suggested.
From Istanbul TO Cities in the Cappadocia RegionKayseri airport is located in Cappadocia, and about one hour drive to Urgup, Goreme most important towns in the region. There is one daily flight from Istanbul to Kayseri on Turkish Airlines.
Bus services runs frequently, and is about USD 35 per person.
Train is not suggested, as it is a really slow way getting to Cappadocia, except the special touristic services organized by the State Railways
