some of the greatest works of Ottoman and Byzantine architecture: Topkapi Palace,
St. Sophia and Chora Churches, Sultanahmet and Suleymaniye Mosques. The city is also the arrival port
for most of the travelers visiting Turkey. Marmara region has other important cities as Edirne and Bursa which
served as capitals of the Ottoman Empire before the conquest of Istanbul, as well as Gelibolu scene to the one
of the most important battles of this century.
