In
April you can stay in city center in a calm atmosphere and about less
than half what you would expect to pay in high season. Cost is about USD
20 for a single room. There are a few hotels along the Barlar Sokagi (means
street of the bars; stayed at one of these hotels), all are about 15-25
years old some are better maintained than others. Rooms are generally
simple and clean, but bathrooms are usually tiny and old. Mine was no
exception. Summer and shoulder season it would not be the best place if
you plan to go to bed earlier than 4 AM. But during low season it is quiet
except the sporadic scooter noise during day time.
There are two coves
in central Bodrum separated by the small piece of land on which the castle
is built. The first set of pictures are taken from the hotel and the other
on the other side of the castle. Click on any picture to see it bigger.

| Pirates,
St.John's castle, the ship. Portugese or Spanish ancient sailboat. You may
easily start thinking of the mediaval ages when pirates were ruling these
seas Close up of the "Kalyon": Looks like a mediaval pirate ship. |
